Canary Islands.- The Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) has held virtual B2B meetings during the celebration of the Tourismatch 2020: International matchmaking event of the tourism sector, a platform designed to establish bilateral contacts between companies, universities, research organizations, and representatives of the international public administrations with the common objective of promoting innovative solutions to strengthen the tourism sector throughout its value chain in order to be prepared for the future. In this context, issues related to health security in tourism, solutions in information and communication technologies (ICT), sustainable tourism, circular economy, environment and energy, and transport and logistics are addressed. Tourismatch 2020 is an event organized by the Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias in collaboration with Enterprise Europe Network and that has the close support of local agents to generate new business contacts, technical cooperation and R & D & I in the sector. Canary Islands. -The Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) has participated in a virtual mission of animation companies from the US interested in learning about the unique fiscal framework of the Islands for the production and development of content for the sector. This online meeting, organized by the Canary Islands Society for Economic Development (Proexca), has brought together almost thirty specialists between CEOS of American and Canarian animation studios, as well as representatives of the different public institutions among these: Proexca, the ZEC, Gran Canaria Film Commission and Tenerife Films, which promoted opportunities for animation under the Canary Islands Film brand. Participating US companies include audiovisual production studios, animation, visual effects (VFX), and service production. Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) Canarias.- Canarias dismissed Thursday after his death, Juan Alberto Martin at the age of 76 years. Martin chaired the Consortium of the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) from 2007 to 2012. His official appointment was published in the Official Bulletin of the State (BOE) on 13 November 2007, a joint proposal by the then second vice president of the Government of Spain and Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Solbes, and the Canary Islands Government.
