Canary Islands.– The Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) will hold almost twenty virtual B2B meetings with producers and tax advisers from Ibero-America, the European Union (EU) and national territory within the scope of the animation industry within the framework of the third online edition of the Quirino Awards for Ibero-American Animation, organized by the Cabildo de Tenerife through the Film Commission.

These meetings to explain how to take advantage of this prosecutor, which are held in the context of the market for the new edition of the event, that is, will take place from tomorrow June 11 to June 26. It should be noted that most of the animation industry established in the Islands currently enjoys the ZEC incentive with a reduced tax rate of 4% compatible with deductions for the audiovisual sector with current percentages of 50% – 45% both in tax credit as in tax rebate, in addition to the IGIG type 0%.  

Of the animation producers in the Canary Islands, most of those who participate in the Quirino Awards operate within the framework of this regime, a growing sector of activity to advance the strategy of economic diversification and the attraction of talent. Along these lines, the Canary Islands is becoming an international benchmark for the industry, with a solid and stable business ecosystem, which has continued to work and generate employment throughout the year.

The organization notes the important reception that the online edition of the “Quirino Month” is having, and it has been recalled that the meeting can be followed free of charge and live through its Facebook page. The event will culminate on June 27 with the awards ceremony and the animated photocall, which will also be broadcast online and in which the winning works will be announced in the nine categories.
