CanariasZEC participates in the conference on the Investment Program of foreign companies in R&D activities in 2021

  Canary Islands.- The Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) will intervene next Friday, December 11, in the information day on the new call for the Investment Program of foreign companies in R&D, an initiative organized by the Territorial Directorate of Commerce and ICEX Delegation in Santa Cruz de Tenerife from 9:00 am.

This conference is aimed at promoting the development of new activities in Research and Development (R&D) by companies with foreign capital that intend to establish themselves in Spain or those that, being already established, intend to start and develop their I + D in our country. For the purposes of this call, a foreign company will be understood as one that has a participation of at least 10% of foreign capital.

The director of the ZEC Agency, Olga Martín, will intervene to explain the possibilities offered by this incentive as an instrument of fiscal policy for the development of R&D companies with high technological content. The following will take part in the opening of the conference and welcoming attendees: Pilar Merino, Territorial Director of Commerce and ICEX delegate in Santa Cruz de Tenerife; Eduardo Bezares, general secretary of CEOE Tenerife; Lola Pérez, general director of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Navigation and Services; Liskel Álvarez, Minister of Foreign Action of the Island Council of Tenerife and Laureano Pérez, General Director of Economic Promotion of the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands.

It will be Óscar Sanz Maldonado, manager of the Investment Program for Foreign Companies in R&D of ICEX-INVEST in SPAIN who will delve into the aid of the new program for 2021. Gerardo Morales, manager of ORFAN BIOTECH SL, will be present as business success cases. and Luis Matias, BIOTECH TRICOPHARMING RESEARCH manager. The panel of experts is completed with the investments of different heads of Research Centers such as: José Luis Rodriguez, director of the General Research Support Service (SEGAI) of the University of La Laguna; Juan Ruiz Alzola, Professor of Image Technologies in the area of Signal Theory and Communications at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Researcher attached to the Astrophysical Institute of the Canary Islands (IAC) responsible for the area of Medical Technology and Raquel Lucia Pérez, CEO of INtech Tenerife (PCTT).
