The Canary Islands – The Koyi animation studio, a company established in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria under the tax benefits of the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC), and the production company Zinkia, will team up to co-produce 36 episodes, of seven minutes each, and 22 videoclips for the new season of the children’s animation series: Pocoyo.

Koyi, a company with 100 % Spanish capital, is a newly established company within one of the key sectors for this regime: the audiovisual sector. As a Canarian partner of Zinkia, the Koyi studio is taking on the production of the new Pocoyo episodes, which will require an investment of three million euros and will bring together a team of 70 professionals. This initiative is part of the strategy for the Canary Islands to become a benchmark for companies in this sector, including the animation industry, an activity whose development in the Canary Islands benefits from the most attractive taxation system in Europe thanks to the ZEC.
