Canary Islands.- The Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) presents its unique tax benefits within the European framework and its opportunities as a gateway to the market of African countries in the framework of the webinar: West Sub-Saharan Africa: Business opportunities for Spanish companies , organized by ICEX Spain Export and Investment together with the Chambers of Commerce of Spain and Tarragona, and with the participation of the economic and commercial offices of Spain in Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.
The specialist in this economic policy tool, limited to the Canary Islands, will explain to the representatives of Spanish companies interested in the internationalization of their goods, products and services, the necessary requirements to establish business operations within the framework of this low tax regime authorized by the European Union (EU), with a set of regulatory requirements. It will also highlight that the ZEC is an incentive that guarantees full legal certainty and fiscal transparency for expanding companies with internationalization strategies, in this context, aimed at the markets of the West Sub-Saharan African countries. Due to its geostrategic situation with respect to the continent, infrastructures, connectivity and taxation, many of the ZEC companies have their hub in the Canary Islands for penetration into African markets.
As the organization explains, the objective of this seminar is to delve into the current situation of these markets after the impact of Covid-19, and analyze the future economic prospects for Spanish companies, since the African continent presents opportunities with new business niches with a market of 1.3 billion people
According to the program, the conference will be opened by the CEO of ICEX Spain Export and Investments, María Peña. Under the heading, Current situation and business prospects in Western Sub-Saharan Africa: Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana and Ivory Coast, the economic and commercial advisers of Spain will intervene; in Lagos, Juan José Otamendi; in Dakar, Alejandro Ruíz; in Accra, Miguel Higuera and in Abidján, Ana de Vicente.
In addition, the conference is completed by the conferences of the experts from the ICEX Economic and Commercial Offices in Africa, as well as the participation of the international director of the Tarragona Chamber of Commerce, an expert in this market, with a 25-year history at the helm of commercial missions throughout the African continent with more than 1,500 companies from all over Spain.
