Canary Islands, 12 February 2018. – The Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) is participating this week in the Kidscreen Summit 2018, one of the most important meetings of the children’s animation sector, that is held in Miami (in the InterContinental Hotel) from 12 to 15 February. This summit is a reference in the American market, bringing together content creators, producers, distributors, professionals and producers from the animation industry from around the world. Therefore, Kidscreen Summit 2018 is a perfect showcase for promotion in the animation sector, and it is noted that last year the summit received 2000 attendees from more than 50 countries.
This year, the ZEC, which went under the umbrella of ‘ Canary Islands Film: We are animation’ along to the Canary Islands Economic Development Company (Proexca), the Gran Canaria Film Commission and the Tenerife Film Commission, had a schedule of more than 20 meetings with sector professionals to explain the tax incentive opportunities for the animation industry. In this context, of particular interest was the meeting with a delegation from the United Kingdom composed of producers and intellectual property agents, as well as other contacts with content managers, sound studios and producers from Canada, Argentina and United Kingdom.
