Canary Islands.– For the first time, the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) has attended Bits & Pretzels, one of the most important innovation events which took place in Munich (Germany), and where they had arranged more than 30 meetings with startups and innovative companies in the technological and digital sector mainly within the German market.
The aim of this initiative is to attract companies of this sector to the islands. This entity also arranged meetings with corporations and consultants from international law firms who work with investors at important companies, apart from making visits to booths, participating in speed data sessions and matchmaking tables.
Of all the countries of the European Union (EU), Germany is one of the countries classified as one of the preferential markets in the promotion strategy of this entity. According to the latest data, and the information contained in the 2018 report, Germany ranked third in the list of the foreign capital registered by the eighty-six companies in the Official Register of ZEC Entities, which are companies established in the Canary Islands.
In this edition, the event had a wide range of participants including: founders, CEOs and partners of companies such as LinkedIn, Amazon, Dropbox, Vodafone, Cashlink Technologies, ProGlove and Red Bull, among others, in addition to the participation of the former president of the United States, Barack Obama.
