According to the collaboration strategy, the entity has attended the Wolves Summit with Why Tenerife?
Canary Islands.- The Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) and Why Tenerife? were both represented at the Wolves Summit 2019. This event, which is held every year in Warsaw (Poland), is a European benchmark for startup companies specialized in technological innovation. The philosophy of the venue is to help start businesses and provide a precise matchmaking tool to establish direct contact between companies, investors and capital. In doing so, it promotes the development of this business ecosystem.
During this year’s 9th edition of the business conference, held over two days, the ZEC had over 40 one to one meetings with companies interested in the opportunities the Canary Islands have to offer. Among these opportunities are all the tax benefits of the ZEC, a single regime endorsed by the European Union and a business platform turned towards the world and other markets.
In this edition, meetings were held with multi-sector companies, which develop businesses linked to the following startup activities: Agritech, AR/VR (Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality) Apps Development, Database Management, Social Media, Chat Boxes, IT Development for banks, Information and Communication Tecnology (ICT), Blockchain development, and Vertical agriculture. Parallel to the event, the ZEC has held another round of contacts with technology companies, with the aim of attracting foreign capital to the Canary Islands.
